The airport authority has issued a tender for 21 landside and airside stores at Hong Kong International airport terminals one and two

Airport Authority Hong Kong has issued a new tender for 21 specialist shops at Hong Kong International airport (HKIA) terminals one (pictured) and two. The airport authority is looking for concepts such as branded fashion stores, sportswear outlets, tea product shops and outlets offering oriental health items. Of the 21 spaces—which vary between 24sq m (258sq ft) and 184sq m (1,980sq ft) in size—15 are airside in T1 and the remaining six are landside stores at T2.

The airport claimed that recent surveys conducted by the Nielsen Company in March reveal that passengers spend an average of three hours in T1 and nearly two hours in T2. HKIA handled 49.5m passengers in the 12 months to June 30 2008, up by 7.8% on the previous year.

The tender document is available by post and for collection at HKIA. The deadline for submissions from interested parties is October 17. Email retailtender@hkairport.com for more information.
