Airport Authority Hong Kong has opened 10 promotional and sales cabins in the landside area of its SkyMart retail facility

New landside retail cabins at Hong Kong International airport are offering brands an opportunity to build their image and encourage sales among the 10m meeters and greeters visiting the airport each year. Airport Authority Hong Kong has opened 10 cabins at the airport's level seven departures hall, with a wide range of brands renting the spaces for sales, brand building and exhibiting products.

Retail concepts in the new cabins include Star and Rose, a bathing accessories retailer specialising in fragrant bath products; Kilara & CEU, the airport's first landside fashion shop; and Futbol Trend, a football-themed gift store opened in preparation for the soccer World Cup in June. Other companies using the space for advertising and exhibition purposes are Sony, DBS, Polytechnic University and India Expo Mart.

The airport authority said that the new spaces are ideal for seasonal promotional campaigns, such as for this summer's World Cup, and that the cabins also offer it the opportunity to test new retail concepts before deciding whether to introduce them on a larger scale.
