The technology company deploys its pay-per-transaction technology solution on board long-haul, low-cost carrier AirAsia X

Canadian on-board retail technology provider GuestLogix has completed deployment on board its first Asian airline client, long-haul, low-cost carrier AirAsia X. The company signed an agreement with the airline in March and announced that it had completed the roll-out of its Mobile Virtual Store platform as it unveiled its second quarter results.

Air Asia X, which was spun off from Air Asia in November 2007, flies from its base in Kuala Lumpur to Australian and Chinese destinations. It offers low fares for the long-haul routes, generating high passenger volumes and driving revenue through ancillary service including catering, retail and on-board entertainment.

AirAsia X CEO Azran Osman Rani said: “GuestLogix provides the retail solution to enhance passenger convenience and secure new revenue opportunities through innovative selling of products and services on-board."

GuestLogix president and CEO Tom Douramakos said: “We look forward to growing the on-board sales for AirAsia X and helping them be the best of class in their category. This signing opens the door for GuestLogix to serve a substantial airline passenger travel market in the region."

GuestLogix established its Asia/Pacific office in Singapore last February.
