Gucci appoints new Boucheron president

Gucci Group today announced the appointment, effective immediately, of Massimo Macchi as president and managing director of Boucheron International. Macchi will retain responsibility for the Group's watch and jewellery business, as Gucci Group vice president.

Massimo Macchi joined Gucci in January 2001 as vice president of Gucci Group and general manager of the watch and jewellery business for Boucheron. Prior to Gucci Macchi was at Bvlgari Group.

Commenting on the appointment president and chief executive officer of Gucci Group Domenico De Sole said: "Massimo has a solid understanding and great experience in the luxury goods industry in general, and in the jewellery and watches segment in particular. His excellent leadership skills, already demonstrated within the Group, will be great strengths as we move forward." In addition, De Sole thanked Jean-Claude Le Rouzic, who is leaving Boucheron, for his outstanding contribution.
