The shareholders of CSA Czech Airlines have approved the sale of the air carrier’s flight catering business at Prague airport
Alpha has announced it has been successful in the tender for the purchase of Air Czech Catering (ACC) from CSA Czech Airlines. The sale has been approved by the airline’s shareholders and should be completed by April. The new acquisition will be part of the Alpha Flight Services division and investment plans have already been agreed. According to Alpha, initial discussions have also taken place about the introduction of Alpha’s product and service solutions into the Czech market. The company claims the emerging markets of Central Europe are a key focus for its business strategy.
Alpha Flight Services managing director mainland Europe/USA Robert Shepherd said: “We are delighted that the shareholders of CSA Czech Airlines have approved the sale of ACC, CSA’s flight catering business at Prague airport, to Alpha. In making their decision, CSA Czech Airlines has recognised that Alpha has the required experience and expertise, having operated flight catering units in Central Europe since 2005. Alpha looks forward to developing closer business relations with CSA, a key airline in the emerging market of Central Europe. We will also be bringing a range of innovative product developments to this market as part of our business plan.”
Alpha Group CEO Peter Williams commented: “The purchase of this business is part of Alpha Flight’s strategic growth in Central Europe.
