Go ahead for inflight sales awards
Interest is building in this year's Inflight Sales Person of the Year Awards, to be held in London on November 28 and 29 2002
Organised by Travel Retail Training, the two-day event involves a series of skills assessments for cabin crew followed by a gala dinner at which the awards will be presented. Last year's event was cancelled following September 11.
Day one consists of sales training for participating cabin crew. Airline management and event sponsors can attend to observe both training and assessments. There will be a room set aside for supplier sponsors to display product and hold meetings with airlines. On the first evening there will be a welcome dinner for cabin crew participants, airline management and sponsors at the Heathrow Marriott Hotel.
An airline workshop will be held on day two, followed by a Question Time slot designed for cabin crew, airline management and sponsors to question a panel of industry experts. bmi british midland has offered its training facilities for the assessments, airline workshop and Question Time. The event culminates in a gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Heathrow Marriott.
There are five individual skill awards, a team award and two overall winners, one each for scheduled and charter airlines. The event is limited to 20 airlines and 16 have committed to it so far.
Sponsors to date include British American Tobacco, Lancaster Group, Clue Trader, Brown-Forman, Bite Creative Services, Nestlé, Alpha Airports Group and TRW publisher Raven Fox.
