19-Jul-2005

Dufry Group and BAA are among leading international operators to confirm their attendance at this year's event

A strong turnout of regional and global companies is expected at the ninth annual conference of South American trade association ASUTIL. One of the global names on this year's delegate list is BAA USA, the subsidiary of UK airports group BAA, which operates retail management at several US airports but has yet to make its first move in Latin America.

Tarcisio Gardioni, vice-president of marketing at Brazilian low-cost airline Gol, is the latest speaker to confirm his participation at the conference. Other confirmed speakers at the event include Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 president and CEO Ernesto Gutierrez, InterBaires president and CEO Enrique Urioste, Aldeasa head of international business Daniel Montero and Parbel vice-president Milos Djuric.

Other companies attending this year's event—organized jointly by ASUTIL and Raven Fox—include Brasif, Dufry Group, Bally, Elizabeth Arden, Hugo Boss, Longchamp, Maxxium Travel Retail, P&G Prestige Beauty and Parbel.

The conference will be held at the Hilton Buenos Aires on September 7-9 and celebrates the tenth anniversary of the Latin American duty-free association, with a packed social programme offering unique networking opportunities. Delegates will be able to book private meetings with buyers from Aldeasa, Brasif, Bright Star, InterBaires, London Supply and Zeinal Hermanos for the afternoons of September 7 and 8, during networking time sponsored by Bacardi and Diageo.

Allied Domecq will sponsor the opening cocktail reception on September 7, Zeinal Hermanos will host a lunch on September 8 and InterBaires sponsor lunch on September 9. London Supply will sponsor the gala dinner and ASUTIL will treat delegates to a trip to Colonia del Sacramento on September 10.

Raven Fox and ASUTIL invite all those interested in attending to register by 29 July to take advantage of a 30% discount on the standard delegate fee and request meetings with key buyers.
