Fashion retailer Gerzon Schiphol has won the Amsterdam Schiphol airport 2005 Growth Award in recognition of the company's record turnover last year
Amsterdam Schiphol airport fashion retailer Gerzon Schiphol has won the airport's 2005 Growth Award after a year in which it achieved record turnover and sales growth of 20%. The retailer beat competition from shortlisted nominees Food & Beverage and Take Off Multitronics.
Gerzon cited the opening of its Business Fashion outlet in Schiphol's terminal one as a factor in its impressive performance. Said managing director Philip Gerzon: "We are very proud to be the winner of this award, especially since market conditions were less favourable [than] in previous years. Together with our stakeholders—our personnel, suppliers and the airport authority—we have worked continuously to win the favour of our customers. And at the end of the day, the customers are our judge and jury. The enthusiasm, drive and professionalism of our employees are also an important aspect in making the 20% increase in gross revenue possible."
Every year Amsterdam Airport Schiphol hosts a gala event to honour its best performing tenants in the Consumer Relations Awards. Other retailers to win recognition in recent years include Kappé Schiphol and Capi International.
