Gebr Heinemann scoops Sofia tender

21-Jul-2004

The operator retains its duty-free supply contract at the Bulgarian airport's shops

Gebr Heinemann has been re-appointed as supplier to the four duty-free shops at Sofia Airport, fighting off international competition from shortlisted bidder Aer Rianta International.

Heinemann will continue to supply all product categories to Sofia's 300sq m (3,228sq ft) shop in the departure hall, 160sq m (1,721sq ft) site at the arrivals shop, 8sqm (86.3sq ft) shop at the VIP lounge and 60sq m (645sq ft) crew outlet. The contract is for one year and will run until the end of August 2005. Sofia's current contract with Gebr Heinemann expired in June.

Sofia managing director Stoil Pashkunov said Heinemann offered the most effective proposition in terms of pricing and delivery of duty-free goods.
