New location to capitalise on Euro 2008 tournament, which starts in June
German travel retailer Gebr Heinemannhas opened an official UEFA football store emblazoned with the Euro 2008 logo at Vienna airport in time for the competition, which starts in June in Austria and Switzerland. The company describes the arrivals hall shop, designed as a transparent cube, as “a genuine magnet for football fans, offering everything lovers of the game could wish for”. Items include footballs, shirts, mascots, bags and other accessories, all bearing the Euro 2008 logo. Two flat-panel displays will show all the games live.
Heinemann hopes the shop will be the first port of call for football fans arriving from abroad throughout the 2008 championship. The temporary store was designed by Vienna agency Strobelgasse.
