Airport authority Fraport and operator Gebr Heinemann have opened a new 400sq m (4,300sq ft) Travel Value shop at Frankfurt International airport terminal one.

The store (pictured) is in the Schengen departures area, located directly behind central security control and alongside the main passenger flow. The shop, which caters to a large number of business passengers, offers fragrances and cosmetics; liquor and duty-paid tobacco products (including a cigar corner), as well as confectionery and selected branded accessories.

The partners said: "Well-lit displays and a clear shop design give the passenger an instant overview of the selection of goods and create a friendly atmosphere for shopping. Special offers that change from month to month support the positioning of the high-value range of items with attractive prices."

The opening is part of Fraport's scheme to extend retailing space at Frankfurt airport. In addition to modernisation and re-design of existing facilities, new shops covering more than 7,500sq m (80,700sq ft) will open in the next few years.
