The new joint venture company of local Slovenian operator Regal and Gebr Heinemann--Regal GH--opened its first completely renovated store at Ljubljana airport last Friday.

The company is in the process refitting all three stores at the airport including 240sq m (2,582sq ft) and 50sq m (538sq ft) departures stores plus a 25sq m (269sq ft) arrivals store. Regal GH managing director Joze Brodnik told TRW: "We started right from the beginning with reconstruction and we are taking a totally new approach to the stores. They are much more like duty-free stores in Germany or other international airports in terms of style and logistics."

  • Regal-GH took over the Ljubljana operation from the airport authority on 18 June with a five-year concession.
