Tax Free World Association has finalised the line-up of speakers at this year's Gate One conference, to be held on Monday May 15 in Singapore
Tax Free World Association has announced the final line-up of speakers at this year's Gate One conference, themed Innovation in the Airport Community. The event, to be held at the Singapore Suntec Centre on Monday May 15, is being organised in partnership with ACI Pacific and the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation.TFWA president Erik Juul-Mortensen will provide the event's welcome address before presentations by CAPA managing director Peter Harbison and University of Technology Sydney's Professor Steve Burdon.
An airport planning session, moderated by IATA regional vice-president Asia/Pacific Andrew Drysdale, will feature contributions from Macquarie Bank CEO Kerrie Mather, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore assistant commercial director Jeffrey Loke, Narita Airport Authority's Toshiaki Kanzaki and Fraport head of strategy and business development Jean-Claude Higelin.
After lunch, a session on consumer behaviour and shoppers' perception of luxury will include a presentation from DFS Group global vice-president marketing and business development Jim Beighley on low-cost customers and their propensity to buy luxury goods. Also presenting in this session will be American Express head of consulting Robert Tedesco and Thierry Halbroth of McCann Erikson.
Growth areas for commercial revenues, including food and beverage, will be addressed in a session moderated by BAA director of international business development Clive Cranwell. Exclusive research conducted for Gate One will be unveiled by P Robert and Partners' Peter Mohn.
The final session of the day will include a presentation by Incheon International Airport Corp manager commercial development Bum-Ho Kim, who will discuss his airport's strategy for the retailing of luxury goods.
This year's Gate One event also features a breakfast workshop, to be held on Wednesday May 17. Themed Innovation in Airport Luxury Retailing, the session will include presentations by Nuance-Watson (HK) managing director Alessandra Piovesana and Airport Authority Hong Kong commercial director Hans Bakker, alongside a panel of suppliers including Kraft Foods World Travel Retail, Samsonite, L'Oréal Luxury Products Division and Hugo Boss.
