The company will also implement a pre-ordering service for inflight duty-free shopping for the airline
Catering and logistics company Gate Gourmet has announced it has renewed its contract to provide onboard catering and duty-free sales for Norwegian Air Shuttle, Scandinavia's largest low-cost carrier. Under the new agreement—Gate Gourmet's second contract renewal with the airline—the company will implement a pre-ordering service for both inflight shopping and meals and expand its current buy-on-board catering and duty-free operation in Norway, Sweden and Poland to include Stockholm and Norwegian's recently acquired subsidiary FlyNordic. Gate Gourmet president for Central Europe, Middle East and Africa Philippe Op de Beeck said: "We are delighted to continue our long collaboration with Norwegian and proud that it recognizes our strong focus on performance and quality." Norwegian Air Shuttle director of station and inflight services Bjorn Erik Barman-Jenssen added: "We are impressed with Gate Gourmet's commitment to further develop Norwegian's in-flight concept in terms of quality and innovation to match our continuous growth going forward."
