Frontier magazine has withdrawn from its involvement in Duty Free Korea 2001, the exhibition and conference due to take place in Busan, South Korea on November 8-10.

While Frontier declined flatly to comment on its decision, Korean sources claim the move was linked to heavy pressure from Tax Free World Association (TFWA), organiser of the rival Tax Free Asia Pacific show which took place in Singapore last week.

According to Duty Free Korea 2001 organisers Kema, the event will still take place. The organisation met this weekend with the country's vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Energy to seek high-level government support. It also seeks support from the Ministry of Tourism and Busan Metropolitan City authorities.
