Frontier magazine sold to William Reed
Wilmington Group has sold its travel-retail magazine Frontier to William Reed Publishing as part of a deal disposing of its drinks titles
Publisher Wilmington Group has sold travel-retail magazine Frontier to William Reed Publishing (WRP) as part of the £2.2m ($2.96m) sale of its drinks division.
The drinks division comprises Wilmington's businesses and assets in the drinks and travel-retail markets and includes the magazines Wine, Drinks International and the International Wine Challenge event.
Wilmington chief executive Charles Brady said: "The sale is in line with Wilmington's strategy of concentrating on its core markets. The board of Wilmington believes that the disposal will allow us to concentrate on our retained markets with more energy and focus whilst providing an excellent opportunity for the drinks assets to be further developed by WRP with their specialist market position."
As well as its portfolio of travel-retail and luxury goods publications, Frontier also organises the annual Frontier Awards, which is held at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes and rewards a panel-nominated shortlist of travel-retail companies from around the world for their achievements in the past year.
