A consortium including the German airport group has won the 30-year concession to manage Delhi airport, with Malaysia Airports (Niaga) to provide "retail expertise"

A consortium including Fraport Group has secured the 30-year contract to manage Delhi airport, subject to final approval from the Indian government. The consortium, which includes Indian investment group IDF plus Hyderabad airport partners GMR Group and Malaysia Airports, will own 74% of shares in the airport, with state-owned Airports Authority of India retaining the remainder.

Fraport will own 10% of the joint venture. In a statement, the German group said that Malaysia Airports' Niaga subsidiary would "provide its experience in airport retailing". The Malaysian company's Eraman division operates several retail outlets at Kuala Lumpur International and other Malaysian airports.
