Frankfurt close to 5m passengers in August

Airport authority Fraport reports record traffic at Frankfurt and a strong performance from Antalya

Frankfurt is the latest European airport to report record monthly traffic figures with 4.92m passengers registered in August. Traffic at Germany's busiest airport was up 1.8% year-on-year. 
 
Combined traffic for the six airports operated by Fraport was up by 5.1% year-on-year to reach 8.4m. Turkey's Antalya airport was 15.1% up at 2.1m, Lima airport in Peru grew by 9% to reach 488,640 and Frankfurt-Hahn registered 274,110 passengers, an increase of 11.2%.
 
Fraport's two other German airports did not fare so well. Hanover declined by 2.6% to 559,555 while the small Saarbrucken airport fell by 2% to 59,819 passengers during the month.
