Hudson Group, Areas, HMSHost and Paradies Shops have given their presentations to a selection committee in the Fort-Lauderdale-Hollywood airport news and gifts tender

Four retailers vying for the news and gifts contract at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood airport pitched their proposals to a Broward County selection committee on December 5.

Hudson Group, Spanish firm Areas, Autogrill subsidiary and Paradies Shops are all interested in the contract, which covers the majority of shops in all four terminals. There are opportunities for two retailers to share the concessions, which are up for tender for the first time in over twenty years.

Three of the four competitors already operate shops at the airport, including Hudson Group, Paradies and HMSHost. Paradies has operated at the airport since 1984, and according to local reports has offered a hefty minimum annual guarantee in order to maintain its position as the airport’s primary concessionaire

The airport hopes to have an agreement go to the commission for approval by March or April.
