First section of Airport City Mall opens at Frankfurt

The landside retail area connects the airport buildings to car parks, car hire companies and public transport

Supermarket in Section C of Airport City MallAirport authority Fraport has opened the first section of the new Airport City Mall landside retail area at Frankfurt airport, which connects the terminal buildings to car parks, car hire firms and public transport. Section C is directly below the C arrivals area and includes an 800sq m (8,611sq ft) supermarket, a mobile phone shop and a hair salon. A restaurant designed by local restaurateur Lucas Dehnhardt will open later in the year.

The airport expects to complete the Airport City Mall by 2012.
