Ferrero to launch World Cup-themed products
The confectionery company has football-themed launches planned for its Kinder and Tic Tac ranges
Confectionery supplier Ferrero has revealed it will launch football-themed products for its Kinder and Tic Tac product ranges in duty-free and travel-retail in the run up to the FIFA World Cup, which will take place in July in South Africa. The new selection follow the company’s tradition of producing commemorative products to coincide with specific occasions such as sporting events.
Ferrero general manager travel market division Giannicola Losacco said branded corners and stand-alone displays are important for recognisable brands in the duty-free channel. He told DFNIonline: “If a company has a range of products within a brand as we do with Kinder the branded corner is ideal. The consumer may be familiar with Kinder Chocolate but not Kinder Schoko-Bons, and seeing them side by side or in selection packs may tempt him to experiment and buy additional items. He recognises the brand, he trusts the name, he associates it with high quality and he buys.”
Losacco added: “Ferrero has been very successful with branded corners and display cases. The Kinder Surprise egg-shaped display stand is a real eye-catcher. [The company] is entirely in favour of bringing an element of theatre and excitement into travel-retail and we have developed merchandising and display tools which are fun for the family market, classic and prestigious for the premium gift market and eye-catching for all customers.
