The Associazione Travel Retail Italia appoints a new board at its annual meeting on December 2

Sagat Turin and Florence commercial development director Fulvio Fassone has been re-elected as the president of the Associazione Travel Retail Italia (ATRI) for the next three years, following the association's annual meeting earlier this month. Aeroporti di Roma (AdR) retail director Alexander Tabacoff and SEA Aeroporti di Milano commercial director Guy Louis Ponzo were elected as vice presidents.

The assembly also reviewed the general situation and evolution of travel-retail and duty-free at Italian airports. Fassone commented: "The importance of the activities at Rome and Milan hub airports has been demonstrated by their enlarged retail programmes for 2006-2007."

He stressed that the development of the Italian market was in line with the general European situation and matched the category trends shown by the European Travel Retail Council's index of EU duty-free and travel-retail sales. A new council was also elected, although further details were unavailable at press time.

Other participants at the meeting included representatives from Bologna airport, Florence, and Turin airports.
