Falque to leave Aeroports de Paris

Alain Falque will leave the French airport authority at the end of January 2005
Aéroports de Paris (AdP) vice-president strategic and commercial affairs Alain Falque is to leave the company at the end of January 2005. He told RavenFox.com he had no plans for further employment as yet but would look for suitable opportunities.
In his role at AdP and in his position as president of French trade association Association Française du Commerce du Voyageur, Falque has made an immense contribution to the country's travel-retail business. Following the abolition of intra-EU duty-free in 1999, he spearheaded the drive to gain legal recognition of airside retail as a distinct sales channel only accessible to those with a valid air ticket. The Espace Voyageur concept, designed to legally differentiate travel-retail from the high street, has gained widespread support within France although full legal recognition of the concept has yet to be awarded. He also helped set up the AFCOV Index, measuring trends in French travel-retail.
At AdP, Falque was instrumental in setting up a joint venture to run retail at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport terminal 2E, where the airport authority operates stores in partnership with Aelia. The move was widely hailed as an effective means to ensure landlords and operators work together to build retail sales.
