Schoolchildren were invited to enter a competition to submit creative drawings of aeroplanes
Ever Rich Foundation has organised an art competition for schoolchildren to mark the 30th anniversary of Taiwan Taoyuan International airport. The A Voyage to Rainbow creative plane drawing competition was held in partnership with the airport, Taoyuan County government, Chinese Paper Art Association and three local schools.
The contest had five categories: general, middle-year general, senior-year general, middle-year fine art talented class and senior year fine art talented class. The evaluation panel included sculpture artist Yang Feng-shen and aircraft model expert and TV news anchor Lin Yu-chan. The prizes for each group included one distinction, three credits and five excellent performances, totalling 70 awards. The winners were invited on a maiden flight and to a prize presentation ceremony at the Ever Rich duty-free shops at Taoyuan airport on June 20.
Ever Rich Foundation has also built a dreamer pyramid to display the award-winning works in the airport’s public space. The foundation hopes the display will give passengers “a pleasant surprise” and show the creativity of Taiwanese children to the world. Works from other contestants will also be displayed at the boarding corridor at terminal one and T2’s zone C for six months.
