Events news from Raven Fox
The inaugural Asia Pacific Travel Partnership Symposium will move to January 24-26, 2007, following consultation with the travel and tourism and travel-retail industries, and a new educational workshop in partnership with Aviation Health will take place on November 14
Raven Fox has announced new dates for the inaugural Asia/Pacific Travel Partnership Symposium, following a period of consultation with senior executives from both the travel and tourism and travel-retail industries.
The event, in partnership with the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and supported by the Asia/Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA), was originally scheduled for September 17-19 to follow on from the PATA Travel Mart in Hong Kong (September 12-15). However, there have been concerns raised that running the event immediately after PATA's largest annual gathering, and just weeks before the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, is ill timed.
The Symposium will now be held on January 24-26, at the Wynn signature resort, Macau's latest luxury hotel/casino property to open on the Cotai strip.
Raven Fox Events director Adele Wolstenhulme said: "Although the thinking behind the Symposium and the event programme have created a real buzz in both the travel-retail and wider travel and tourism industries, many people felt that the event date was a difficult one to justify attending, given the two critical events in the calendar for both industries and the time required out of the office. By moving the event to January, we are responding to those concerns."
Information sharing and partnership opportunities form the foundations of the programme, which features internet booking companies, tour operators, airports, airport retailers, brand owners, hoteliers, cruiselines, airlines and national tourism organisations. By attending, delegates will gain an enhanced understanding of how companies in the travel chain can work together to drive sales in their respective businesses by improving and fine-tuning the offer to consumers.
Wolstenhulme added: "Our research findings from a database of over 30,000 interviews with consumers travelling through airports across the world demonstrated to us how useful it would be to unite the two industries in one event to discuss how they can better serve different travelling nationalities—and subsequently maximise revenues—through partnership and information sharing. I'm confident that the first Asia/Pacific Travel Partnership Symposium will prove hugely beneficial for driving new business."
In other Raven Fox Events news, we are proud to announce a new partnership with Aviation Health to stage a one-day workshop to help educate airports, travel retailers, brands and food and beverage companies about products, services and communication tools that can be offered and used to help travelling consumers arrive at their destinations in better shape—and simultaneously drive healthy new revenue streams.
Aviation Health Director Farrol Kahn said: "I am delighted to be working with raven Fox on this initiative. This is a unique educational event which offers an exciting opportunity to contribute towards the well-being of passengers and at the same time create new revenue streams for the travel-retail industry."
The workshop will take place on November 14. More details will be made available shortly.
