The Estée Lauder Companies has confirmed its commitment to the growth of its remaining make-up artistry brands MAC and Bobbi Brown following the sale of Stila to Stila Corp and Sun Capital Partners

The Estée Lauder Companies has emphasised its continued commitment to the make-up artist-brand category and the growth of its MAC and Bobbi Brown brands, following the sale of cosmetics brand Stila. It sold the brand to Stila Corp, an affiliate of private equity firm Sun Capital Partners, on April 10. Stila will be operated by a management team led by Jane McKellar, the former managing director of Elizabeth Arden in Australia. The Stila Corp team will take responsibility for all decisions regarding the direction of the brand.

The Estée Lauder Companies president and CEO William Lauder said: "We are pleased to be selling Stila to Stila Corp and Sun Capital. Jane McKellar and her colleagues are talented, experienced executives who are passionate about cosmetics and the Stila brand. We believe this bodes well for the brand's future. At the same time, we are pleased that our company has taken this important step in our drive to optimise our portfolio of brands."
