The retailer expects the opening of Kuala Lumpur International airport’s new commercial area to increase its revenue by 20% in 2009

Eraman Malaysia predicts the new shopping area at Kuala Lumpur International airport (KLIA) will contribute 20% to its business in 2009, according to the Business Times. The wholly-owned retail subsidiary of Malaysia Airports Holding Bhd (MAHB) expects the Contact Pier International—a walk-through shopping area spanning 30,000sq ft (2,787sq m)—to be operational in late October. It will feature several new branded shops, including the World of Cadbury confectionery outlet and a Hershey’s concept store in addition to a Kidz Smart Tunnel shop offering duty-free items for children and a Stila make-up counter.

Eraman Malaysia registered revenue of RM289m ($85.2m) in 2007, representing 20% of MAHB’s total revenue. The retailer operates stores at KLIA, Kuching International, Kota Kinabalu International and Labuan airports.
