On a recent visit to one of the biggest travel-retail locations in the world, I noticed a Scotch malt whisky I'd never seen before. By chance, one of my travelling companions worked for the supplier in question and explained that the malt was a limited-edition, single-cask variant available exclusively in duty-free

The trouble is, nowhere was there any sign to inform the customer of the product's exclusive status. It was just another whisky as far as the travelling consumer was concerned.
