Aer Rianta International's Swarovski boutique takes the duty-free prize in a new scheme designed to boost concession activity at the airport

Domodedovo International airport authority East Line has awarded Aer Rianta International's Swarovski boutique its Spring 2005 Best Concessionaire award in the duty-free category. Fashion accessory outlet Accessorize won in the duty-paid retail category and Café Macchiato won in the restaurant group.

The awards initiative aims to improve the quality and broaden the range of services available to passengers at Domodedovo by stimulating internal competition among outlets in the same category. The winner of the competition is determined by an analysis of performance by retail experts, including quality control inspectors from Domodedovo, passengers participating in monthly service quality polls and website visitors responding to online polls.

The airport's website also claimed that the prize encourages higher service by offering better business terms to winners. "To additionally interest concessionaries in further improving quality of their services, winners will be able to operate during the next quarter on preferential terms," the statement read.
