Retailers in Asia and Latin America are increasing pressure on their governments to seek mutual recognition of security rules
South Korea and Tunisia are the latest governments to confirm that they will implement restrictions on the amount of liquids that passengers may carry in their hand luggage. Korea will apply the new restrictions on March 1, with Tunisia implementing them exactly a month later.
According to a statement released by the European Travel Retail Council, Brussels-based diplomats from Argentina, Uruguay, Peru and Columbia are now seeking the mutual recognition of their liquids security rules by the European Commission.
Further good news for the transfer campaign comes from Asia/Pacific, where ETRC is helping travel retailers in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Thailand and China to mobilise their governments towards seeking mutual recognition of security rules.
