ETRC postpones business forum to 2009

The European Travel Retail Council announces that the event, originally scheduled for next month, will be postponed to allow the association to focus on the several pressing issues it is addressing at present
The European Travel Retail Council (ETRC) has announced that it is postponing its Business Forum, originally scheduled to be held on June 4-5 in Brussels. The event, which will now be held in January or February 2009, has been delayed to allow the association to focus entirely on its prime objective of protecting the industry’s interests.
In a statement the association said: “With several pressing issues on the table, ETRC feels that its limited time and resources are best spent giving these its full attention at this time.”
ETRC secretary general Keith Spinks told DFNIonline that all those who have registered to the conference would be refunded, and would be charged the same price for the rescheduled event. The association had hoped to attract about 150 delegates to the conference.
Spinks added that ETRC had received provisional confirmation that European Parliament president Hans-Gert Pöttering would address the event as keynote speaker, as originally planned.
