The European Commission (EC) delegation to The Czech Republic has reacted angrily to a decision by the Czech chamber of deputies to delay the proposed closure of border duty-free outlets, previously scheduled for the end of the year

The European Commission (EC) delegation to The Czech Republic has reacted angrily to a decision by the Czech chamber of deputies to delay the proposed closure of border duty-free outlets, previously scheduled for the end of the year. The postponement until the end of March 2004, passed yesterday (Thursday July 24), comes after duty-free operators expressed concerns about complicated taxation on remaining stock.
