Aéroports de Paris and The Nuance Group have received the European Commission’s approval to set up a fashion joint venture

The European Commission has approved the creation of a joint venture between French airport authority Aéroports de Paris (AdP) and travel retailer The Nuance Group to operate about 5,000sq m (53,819sq ft) of fashion and accessories stores at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly airports.

The Commission said in a statement that the joint venture “would not have a detrimental effect on competition in the markets for retail sales or retail trade concessions at airports because the two companies have only a limited share of the European and world markets and have many other competitors”.

AdP added that the venture is scheduled to start its activities “at the beginning of 2009”.
