The country’s liquor imports stagnate as most countries suspend exports to Belarus

Liquor imports to Belarus have decreased following the suspension of duty-shops in July this year, according to reports. All suppliers, except for Finland, suspended exports after the shops were closed.

Imports of vodka fell 23.7% on the year to 2,400l, worth $6.3m. Most imports—2,290l worth $5.89m were between January and June, when duty-free shops were operating.

Other hard drinks were also affected, with imports decreasing from 5,600’ worth $21.7m in the same period last year, to 4,730l worth $21m in January-August this year.
