The revamped store at Hosea Kutako International airport is operated by local company Paragon Investment Holdings

Namibian company Paragon Investment Holdings has opened its revamped duty-free store at Hosea Kutako International airport. The N$5m ($636,500) refurbished outlet was officially opened by Namibia’s Minister of Trade and Industry Hade Geingob, reported the All Africa website.

Paragon was awarded the five-year contract to operate the duty-free store by airport authority Namibia Airports Company (NAC) despite a legal complaint by former operator SE Duty Free Trading, which was ordered by the High Court of Namibia to vacate the store it occupied for 10 years in December 2007.

NAC CEO Vemunjengua Kavari said the new duty-free outlet is an “attractive, well-designed shop that offers the traveller an experience fully in line with best practices internationally”.
