The liquor and wine distributor now ranks second in global volume in travel-retail
Global premium liquor and wine distribution company Maxxium Worldwide has announced record results for the first six months of the 2007/08 financial year with net sales of 1bn ($1.44bn), representing organic growth of 7.4% compared with the same period last year. The rise was driven by a strong performance in the duty-free market, where Maxxium now ranks second in both global volume and sales by value.
Maxxium Worldwide CEO Ben van Doesburgh said: We are delighted that our vision continues to deliver strong results. Over the past six months we have continued to raise our levels of performance by being the best at building superior presence for our brands [Absolut vodka, The Famous Grouse whisky, Jim Beam, Rémy Martin cognac, Cointreau, Sauza tequila, The Macallan, Plymouth gin, Canadian Club, Piper-Heidsieck champagne and Cruzan rum] in all channels. As we enter our strongest trading period of the year, I am confident we will continue to deliver on our objectives.
