The US concessionaire adds a seventh carrier to its portfolio

Inflight concessionaire Duty Free World has confirmed to RavenFox.com that it is to take over the onboard duty-free contract for Brazilian national carrier Varig. The company has signed a five-year agreement to operate the carrier's inflight retail business, which will include liquor, tobacco, fragrances, cosmetics, confectionery, jewellery, watches, children's items, travel accessories, gifts and electronics.

Duty Free World vice president sales Judi Bishop told RavenFox.com that the Varig deal was a very exciting move for the company, and that the carrier was the seventh in the group's portfolio.

Varig's inflight retail operation was previously operated by Diplomatic Supply, after it reached an agreement with Inflight Sales Group, which won the contract originally.

Duty Free World's clients also include United Airlines and Mexicana.
