Duty Free World (DFW) has been awarded the contract to provide US Airways with its onboard retail programme. The group is based in Miami, Florida and already serves carriers including Mexicana, Avianca and Tame. Inflight Sales Group previously handled the airline's onboard retail offer. The three-year contract commences on September 1.

US Airways vice-president of inflight services Sherri Hendry said: "We are thrilled to be associated with a company such as DFW, whose company culture is supportive and will provide our flight attendants with exciting, innovative products and marketing support."

The new programme will include liquor, headsets and food for sale.

Mayra del Valle, Leylani Cardoso and Judi Bishop are among the company's principals. Del Valle said: "It is important to offer total reliability and support in these difficult times, not only with the product that you are selling, but with the support offered to the airline in terms of technology and motivational programmes."
