State travel retailer Duty Free Philippines has returned to the city after an absence of almost seven year

Duty Free Philippines has opened two new stores at Davao International airport seven years after closing its business in 200 in the wake of the Asian financial crisis. The two outlets, one each in arrivals and departures, were opened last week and indicate DFP’s confidence in the city’s stability, said local reports.

The stores are DFPs ninth and tenth outlets, and its only ones in the wider Mindinao region. The retailer’s old store in Davao was at the Grand Regal hotel, then the Mercure hotel.

The report quoted DFP general manager Michael Kho as saying that the new shops would be on a par with, if not better than, the retailer’s shops at other locations.
