Dunbar to leave Nuance North America
Recently appointed chief financial officer Richard Rendek is to take the reins as Dunbar pursues interests outside travel-retail
The Nuance Group North America ceo Roger Dunbar is to leave the company tomorrow to take up a new challenge outside the travel-retail industry. He will be replaced by current Nuance North America chief financial officer Richard Rendek, who will report directly to Nuance president and ceo Peter Petersen.
Dunbar joined Nuance in August 2000 and steered its north American division through a challenging period for all travel retailers in the region. He leaves Nuance in an especially strong position in Canadian airport retail, having overseen the company's victory in last year's duty-free tender at Toronto Lester B Pearson airport.
Dunbar's replacement Richard Rendek joined Nuance in December last year and has experience of north American retail with HDS Retail North America, part of Hachette Distribution Services.
Commenting on Dunbar's departure, Petersen said: ?Ever since he joined Nuance, Roger has been a valuable member of our management team, and we wish him the best of luck for his new challenges and his personal life.? Petersen welcomed Rendek to the role and praised his ?profound know-how of the industry and leadership skills?.
