Dufry has announced an overhaul of its organisational structure over the four regions in which it operates - Europe, Africa, Eurasia & Asia and the Americas & Caribbean

The region formerly known as western Europe and Africa has been renamed Africa, and the company's European units have been incorporated into the new Europe region, which is under the control of regional COO Dante Marrro.

Dufry's new Africa region, which includes the company's operations in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco and Tunisia, is under the direction of temporary regional COO José-Antonio Gea, while Eurasia & Asia, where the retailer runs outlets in Belarus, Georgia, Russia, the UAE, Singapore and Cambodia, is the responsibility of regional COO René Riedi. In the Americas & Caribbean region, Dufry operates in the US, Mexico, Bolivia, Nicaragua and on Caribbean islands. The region is under the control of regional COO José Gonzalez, who is based in Miami.

The new organisational structure became effective on October 1.

Dufry runs 262 stores worldwide and says its customer base numbers 14m.
