Following its win in the tender to operate duty-free at Algiers Houari Boumédienne International airport earlier this year, Dufry has opened its first two stores at the location

Dufry Group has opened its first stores at Algiers Houari Boumédienne International airport in Algeria. Both stores measure 320sq m (3,440sq ft) and offer a full range of duty-free goods. One, situated in hall one, caters for Air Algérie passengers, while the hall two store welcomes all other travellers.

The stores opened on July 1, four days before the official inauguration of the airport by the Algerian president.

As revealed on RavenFox.com on February 7, Dufry was awarded a five-year deal to run duty-free at Algiers by Etablissement de Gestion de Services Aéroportuaires. The business strengthens Dufry's presence in North Africa, where it also operates several stores in Tunisia and Morocco.
