Dufry makes senior regional management appointments
The group strengthens its regional management in the Caribbean and in Tunisia
Dufry Group has appointed Alan Huxtable as the operator's new retail director for the Caribbean region. Huxtable has been with the company since 1990, when he became general manager of retail operations at Newark International airport. In 1997 he moved to Mexico to oversee the retailer's duty-free and duty-paid business in Cancun and Cozumel, before relocating to Miami in 2000. Recently Huxtable was promoted to senior purchasing manager for Americas and Caribbean, overseeing buying strategy in the beauty, watches, eyewear and luxury goods categories.
Dufry coo Americas and Caribbean Jose Gonzalez said: "Alan has been an outstanding leader at each location and with every assignment in our region. It is with great pleasure that we welcome him to this new assignment in one of the most important and growing parts of the Americas business."
The group has also named Miguel Angel Martinez as general manager of Dufry Tunisia. Martinez joined the company on May 21 and has a strong background in retail and distribution, having worked for Spanish operator Aldeasa and High Street chain C&A.
Dufry chief operating officer western Europe and Africa Antoine d'Oiron said: ?We are very pleased to welcome Miguel Angel who will bring all his talents and vast experience of retailing to one of our flagship operations.?
