Dufry in strong position as incumbent concessionaires battle for T1 contract

Dufry Singapore and Boon & Co, the main electronics concessionaires at Singapore Changi terminal one, are the two bidders for a three-year lifestyle electronics contract, for which bids closed on August 26. The contract, in departure lounge east in terminal one, begins on November 15.

Dufry is in a strong position to win the contract based on its financial bid. It offered 12% of sales or a monthly minimum of S$150,000 ($90,000) on sales up to S$1.25m ($748,500). Above S$1.25m, it offered 12% or a minimum of S$167,000 ($100,000). Boon & Co offered 3% of monthly sales or S$30,000 ($17,965), whichever is higher.

As reported last week, Dufry also bid highest for a watches concession at terminal one west, where the contract begins on November 1. King Power International (Hong Kong) and Richburgh Holdings were the other bidders.
