Dufry, InterBaires and DFS share Americas Awards spoils

Suppliers have voted the three retailers as the best in the Americas in the fourth DFNI Awards for Travel-Retail Excellence in the Americas

Dufry Group, InterBaires and DFS Group are among the winners of this year’s DFNI Awards for Travel Retail Excellence in the Americas, DFNIonline can reveal. Dufry Group took the top prize, Americas Travel Retailer of the Year, as well the Liquor Retailer of the Year award.

Argentinian retailer InterBaires won the most awards, collecting accolades for Beauty Retailer of the Year, Confectionery Retailer of the Year and Tobacco Retailer of the Year, while suppliers recognised DFS Group’s excellence in luxury retailing by voting the company as Fashion, Accessories and Gifts Retailer of the Year.

In the supplier section of the awards, Coty Prestige beat competition from Parbel and Pernod Ricard to win the coveted Supplier of the Year title, while V&S Absolut Spirits’ Absolut Disco was chosen from nominations as the Best New Product Launch, coming above Coty Prestige’s Daisy by Marc Jacobs and Diageo’s Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V.

The awards are decided by a vote open to all companies operating in the Americas travel-retail market, with Best New Product Launch decided by an editorial panel after compiling a shortlist of voted-for nominations.
