Estée Lauder's Mac store at Dublin airport is now ranked as the brand's second most successful store in travel-retail behind its outlet in Seoul

Estée Lauder's Mac shop on The Street at Dublin airport is ranked number two for travel-retail sales worldwide, having passed the Mac outlet in Hawaii, but still behind the Seoul store which retains pole position. The Dublin store has been the number one door for Mac in Europe, the Middle East and Africa since 2005.

The Dublin Mac shop achieved its biggest sales month ever in June this year with sales totalling €252,000 ($324,192), an increase of 53% compared to the same period last year. Since it opened in 2002, the shop has performed beyond expectations with turnover now over €2.5m ($3.2m) and sales of €100,000 ($128,000) per sq m.

Aer Rianta Retail director Frank O'Connell said: "This is a fantastic result and I would like to congratulate the team at MAC for this outstanding achievement. Mac sales during the month of June have doubled since 2004 and the increase in sales over the past year is way ahead of the growth in passenger numbers at Dublin airport. MAC is by far the best performing brand in the cosmetics category within the fragrances department and we look forward to its continued success."
