Dubai posts record in McLoughlin's absence

Dubai Duty Free set a new daily sales record yesterday (October 24) as takings reached $1.63m

Transactions totalled 33,000 as the Middle Eastern operator remained on course to smash its yearly forecast of $350m.

Managing director Colm McLoughlin told TRW: "We're thrilled with the record, which is a tribute to our systems and to the efforts of our team. And the result was achieved when myself and six other members of staff were out of the country. The team at Dubai have asked us not to return!"
