Droste appoints Gebr Heinemann for European business
Droste, the Dutch chocolate producer founded 1863, has appointed Gebr Heinemann as its exclusive duty-free and travel-retail agent for Central Europe. The countries covered under the agreement are Germany, Switzerland, Austria plus the tax-free territories of Samnaun and Livigno and the co-operation is effective immediately.
Droste export manager Steve Vlam commented: "Droste feels that the co-operation with Gebr Heinemann is a logical evaluation of our recent strong performance in the European travel-retail business where in the last few year's annual double digit growth-figures were realised. Droste already has a long and good working relation with Kappé, the Gebr Heinemann partner in the Netherlands, and we are convinced that the Dutch relation will extend to a fruitful and successful business relation with Heinemann," he said.
Droste chocolates have already increased their visibility not only in the Dutch travel-retail business, but also in the UK, Turkey and Scandinavian markets. Worldwide growth has been above the company's own expectations, most notably in Asia and South America.
