Russia's busiest airport is to add over 12,000sq m of airside and landside retail space by 2008

Moscow Domodedovo airport authority East Line is planning a series of retail expansions between 2006 and 2008 in an attempt to more than double its non-aviation revenues, according to media reports. The airport, which recently overtook Moscow Sheremetyevo as the busiest in Russia, is to expand its offer both airside and landside.

The authority is to build the airside Domodedovo Plaza, featuring over 10,000sq m (107,600sq ft) of retail and entertainment space. Landside, the airport's retail area will triple in size to 7,000sq m (75,320sq ft).

Non-aviation activity currently accounts for 40% of Domodedovo's total revenue.
