Max Box kiosks will offer passengers a range of digital services

DSG International (DSGi) has signed an agreement with software development firm Felix Group to trial its Max Box kiosks in Dixons Tax Free stores at London Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

The units offer a mobile phone top-up and charge service, 24-hour flower-ordering facility, Christmas hampers, games and digital downloads. A successful trial could prompt a wider roll-out to Dixons Tax Free and Currys stores.

Felix Group CEO Andy Egan said: “Dwell time in airport stores is significantly longer than on the high street so this is a fantastic opportunity to take Max Box to tech-savvy customers in a busy airport environment. It will also allow cross-selling opportunities and a wider service offering.”

Dixons Tax Free trading manager Sophie Woollard said she believes this is an excellent opportunity to take care of passengers’ technological needs when they fly.
